We depart from Medulin Riviera towards another riviera known for the Brijuni archipelago, the only national park in Istria which with its 14 islands encompasses the surface of 736 hectares.
We then pass through the center of Pula – Giardini – and ride all the way to Valbandon to visit one of the first agritourisms in Istria called Alla Beccaccia. We recommend you to try their rural Istria's indigenous cuisine. We ride further to Fažana where you can try fish specialties on the town seafront in the restaurant Marina.
Fažana is the starting point for the visit to the Brijuni national park. Tickets for this amazing adventure can be bought at the island of Brijuni reception on the seafront. It is important to mention that you can not take your bicycles to the island. However, you can rent bicycles upon arrival and start exploring this splendid national park. There are 24 kilometers of paved road along the coast at Brijuni.
They say Brijuni archipelago is one of the most beautiful on the Mediterranean. It is rich with flora since its founder, the Austrian entrepreneur Kupelwieser, planted there species from all over the world. There is a large number of archaeological monuments on the island and a couple of museums worth visiting. Famous people such as Queen Elisabeth II, Charles de Gaulle, Vily Brandt, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mihail Sergejevič Gorbačov, Fidel Castro, Angelina Jolie, Elizabeth Taylor and Sofia Loren have visited Brijuni.
We go back to Fažana by boat and passing through Šišan back to Medulin Riviera where we began this extraordinary expedition.
